Brixton Works is an ambitious project about the future of affordable workspace in Brixton. Across London, affordability and accessibility of space for startups, small and growing businesses are under increasing pressure as landlords raise prices or convert workspace into housing. But it is crucial that Brixton will continue to offer a diverse range of affordable spaces to enterprising people.
In December 2015, Lambeth Council commissioned a study to explore how this vision can be achieved. Read more about the initiative and the team on Cllr Jack Hopkins’ blog and our website: http://www.brixtonworks.org
To be truly successful, a project like Brixton Works depends on people working together. Therefore, on 16 and 17 February, the team invites anyone interested in the future of affordable workspace to discuss our initial findings and the emerging project vision. We’d like to meet with local businesses, business support providers, young people, artists and other local people.
